G550 Reliability

Hey Everyone!! I've been considering many different benz's (amg's in particular). Can't lease these new amg's so i've been looking at used ones that i can finance. I've looked at everything from a used w205 C63s sedan to a W212 facelift E63s. I always find myself circling back to a 2013-2014 g550. I'm heavily considering throwing on a 4in lift kit with some nice wheels and off-road tires. Wanted to see what everyone thinks of them and their reliability. I also know that these G550's keep their value fairly well, which is another reason why im considering them heavily. Open to advice!!

My 2002 has 183K miles and runs like new. Make sure the previous owner took care of it. If fluids were changed on time, it will go forever with minor maintenance.

I agree with Jpballer. These things are pretty bullet proof if maintained properly. Be sure you spend some time in a G before committing. Looking at your other considerations, the C63S and E63, there is very little comparison in every area including performance, handling, and ride comfort. The G is a unique vehicle, even a little quirky in some respects. Having the opportunity to experience "seat time" in varying driving circumstances is very important before making a purchase. Good luck with your search. By the way, I love my G but have other cars in my garage.

G550 purchase

Thanks guys! I kinda got an idea on what i should do. Probably going to see if i can ride around in my buddies for a day or two and see how the ride feels and whether or not I like it. From there I'll gauge and see how it is. Will keep you guys posted on what I end up picking up!
