Steering knuckle grease
I just grease my steering knuckle with type 2 grease but accidentally use dark grease rather than a light colored grease. Is this going to cause any problems.

Thank you for the reply. I knew right after I did it that I had screwed up. I understand that the original white knuckle grease is to prevent dirt and moisture from getting in and that the seal in the knuckle ball will prevent the grease from coming out . With that said why doesn’t the seal that prevented the white grease from coming out doesn’t prevent the grease from the torn CV boot from coming out?

No matter the color, the grease in the swivel ***** is supposed to slowly seep out past the swipe seals. That way it carries any water or dirt away from the critical parts inside. By using a light colored grease, you can tell by the color of the seepage if the CV joint boots have failed; since the grease in the CV joints is black.

Got it , that makes sense. Thanks again. In normal city driving with normal seapage of the grease every how often do the swivel ***** have to be grease? I have heard all kinds answrs.
