G550 Rust issues

Hey guys and gals. I'm wondering if anyone here has had rust problems with their G550/63. Mine has 55,000 miles on it and I maintain it very well...two spots of rust have formed on the rear right door sill. I'm really annoyed - no modern car should have rust issues at 55,000 miles, let alone a Mercedes. I'm brining it into the dealership next week for them to inspect it, and I'm in contact with a customer rep from Mercedes corporate.

I'm not sure what I should do at this point. Even if the rust issues are taken care of, I'm worried that more will spring up over time. I love the G550, but I don't want to be stuck with a vehicle that's constantly developing oxidation. My dad bought a G500 way back in 2003 and unfortunately, that car too developed numerous oxidation spots by 75,000 miles - this appears to be a running problem, not an isolated incident.

Should I fix the spots and hope no more appear? Can I do something to minimize the problem in the future? Should I just give in and give it a bare metal respray?

Thank you for any input.
