Quote: I'm sure MB will stand behind and fix any issues, if any on the new ones. All I've heard about is a wind sound through a vent, also believe they'll have most of the bugs worked out upon release. I almost bought an 18 G550 as it was on the floor at my local dealer but the color was wrong for me and then after studying all I could find, decided to wait. I'd take any 18 or 19 but it just turned out I went for the 19. Love the white color, that's what I went for too.
You are 100 percent correct and they will stand behind it! You are happy, than you made the right choice! I am glad you love it. Make sure when you get it to please post some pictures! They are sharp units! Peace!

Quote: Similar situation. Have an offer for 15K off on a 2018 G63 and I can push it to 20K off. Not sure if I should wait and test drive the new 2019 G63.

I test drove 2019 G550 and the drive did not feel like a G-class anymore. Yes, it looks like a G-class and the view from the driver seat is the same as before. However, it drives very similar to my RRS Supercharged or any other luxury SUV. One of the reasons I fell in love with the old G is the characteristic of the drive. The wheel of the old G feels heavy and it truly felt like driving a truck. Now it feels like driving an S-class, just lifted. I am hoping 2019 G63 will have a different drive than G550.

I am leaning towards purchasing 2018 G63 now and might trade in my RRS for the 2019 G63 once they stop with the markups.
I have not driven the new one at all! But thats exactly why I love my 18 G63. That truck feel, that live axle, the short radius, and fighting it keep it on the road. Its like driving an AMG stock truck. I love that appeal. I am for anyone wanting a new unit. I cant wait till they start posting pics etc. And I respect their decision. I am just an old school bum lol

Jagdpanzer, thanks and don't get me wrong, I would love a 2018 AMG, I'd love any G Wagon, any year, just when I decided to actually make the commitment, I ended up ordering the 2019 G550. If I would have had a chance to buy an 18 AMG in white at a good price, that'd be what would be sitting in my driveway right now. For me there is no wrong choice, unless it's not a G Wagon!

You did the right thing! U will love it and you are right, any G wagon in the drive is better than none at all. Enjoy that beauty! U will be riding in style soon enough! You have a good one! (:

The G wagon in general is like the 70's all over again!

Anyhow, I really wanted a 2019 G63 but my dealer said they couldn't get one until April. So they made me a deal on a 2018 G63. This thing rocks! I love the sound, the ride, and the way the doors close etc. I figure I'll drive it around until the 2019's cool down some and then check them out.

Very cool! Glad you at least got something to drive. I love mine as well. Its a heavy tank that rides like a lumber wagon. Man I love it (: I am interested to see when the prices come down on the new 63s as well! I am not against something in the future either! I am bias now to my own ride, but that can change. If I don't like the new G, I will look at something else. Maybe do a 180 for a GTR car (:

Ya, I really love my 2018 G63.

Those GTR is nice and I really dig the AWD but I would get into some serious trouble with a car like that lol I'm hooked on off roading right now, I also own a 2010 Raptor.

Loved the 2016, but had major flooding issues with it and it ended up being lemon lawed. Dealer didn’t have any 2017/18’s G’s when that happened and I needed to get into something quick. Dealership is in a small town, I like to buy from them because of their great service program.
Hope you found your ride. Post some pics when you can!

I ended up getting the 19 G550 that I ordered awhile ago. Selenite with night package and macchiato/black interior. It showed up right when I was making a decision and once I drove it, it was night and day. Paid sticker price but got 2 years of maintenance thrown in. Will post more pics once the weather gets better and she’s nice and clean. The two pics I put on my profile on here are from the day I picked it up.

Congratulations. Look forward to some photos. I'm on the fence as well I feel the new 2019 G550 is a great move and the added power makes it a great buy. I just personally wish you could put the Bull Bar of the G63 on the 2019 550. To me, that's the perfect setup if the 2019 63 isn't an option.

Will post photos once I get her fixed. (See my post about being rear ended). Said they’ll let me know Monday how long the wheel cover will take to get in. There’s no other damage. Thank goodness. I love this forum and being able to post on here about the G. Y’all are a great group of people and excellent resource.
