GD240 slow orde useless

GD240 slow orde useless
Hi
I live in Denmark and AS many of you might know we have huge tax on cars, also tax for having the car (2010 ml 7.000€ pr. Year) When buy old car 35 year it is veteran car and 1/4 year tax. So thinking on buying a GD240, for second car to drive 12 km to work (i love the G Class look) i have newer drived GD240 cevil only army version with lower gear ratio, but Reading That it is werry werry slow, linke useless ? I use to have a 1986 w201 2.0 it Was also slow but i loved the car and acepted the acceleration. So my question Are is it realy so slow that it is useless to every day driving trough town to work ?
