Is 210f normal operating temp for driving around town in 57F rainy weather with the heat on full blast?

Yes, the engine should quickly come to up to a constant temp, despite outdoor conditions. Most modern engines operate over 200 F, which yeilds the best efficiency.

Thank you.. my heat fluctuates between 170-215 just driving around in this thing. How can I ensure the air has been purged? . On my ML350, it stays around 185. On my e350 wagon, it stays about 185.

Definitely take it back to your mechanic or the dealer. It could be a bad thermostat or air, although most systems purge themselves and then draw water from the expansion tank. Obviously, It could be that they just did not do something correctly. What is the water level in the expansion tank when cold and when hot? You can add water, but use distilled water and be sure and check the antifreeze concentration with a tester; winter is coming...

The first day I had my 2016 G550 with the 4.0 Biturbo I called the service dept. panicked! LOL Mine ran very hot and once parked in the garage, the fan would run sometimes more than 10 mins! With my '18 G63, the fan almost never runs when parked....even on insanely hot days with long drives!
