Difference Between Different Blacks
What's the difference between the four metallic black paints for the 2019 Gwags.
183 Magnetite black
197 Obsidian black
041 designo graphite
046 designo platinum black

We have had (all on G-Wagens) Magnetite, Obsidian and Designo Graphite.
Obsidian is the "blackest", but in the sun very metallic. Graphite is more of a pencil lead, metallic dark gray and Magnetite which we have now is lighter than Obsidian, but blacker than Graphite.
We have seen Platinum Black in person several times, and the metallic "sparkles" are well...platinum.
Magnetite Black is so far, our fav black on a G-Wagen and is ahmaaaaaazing in the sun!! The metallic sparkles in the sun are kind of sliver and blue. Graphite pulls A LOT of green in the sun and certain lighting. The other 3 colours have no green.

Wow, was not expecting such a comprehensive response Deutsch100, thank you so much!
I got the new 2019 G550 for my wife (in the Designo White Metallic) and it's such great vehcile (as well as a significant improvement over our 2015 G550) and I'm going to get a 2019 G63 for myself (even though I have plenty of SUVs) I just can't resist

I think I have narrowed it down to either:
183 Magnetite black
046 designo platinum black
Can someone post a picture of their Magnetite Black and their Designo Platinum Black on a Gwag? Doesn't have to be the new model.

Did anyone order this color? If so, can you post a picture. I'm thinking that would be nice, black, even metallic blacks are a ***** to keep clean and always look dirty it seems. This flatting agent they put in this mangno color might just be the ticket.

Yeah, it's crazy they don't, but that's true for even the top brands, like Rolls Royce and Bentley, they have you order a $500,000 vehicle off of tiny paint samples. Worse is they launch a new model with new paints and don't provide paint samples (not even the tiny ones) Unreal.
