Having finally received my first G63 after the 2019 delivery fiasco I was curious if anyone has any good ideas for me (other than remote mounted) on a radar detector mount? The escort mount (giant suction cup) has the radar detector hanging too low and the the V1 doesn't work given the windshield angle. Thanks in advance.
I had my Valentine 1 installed today in my 2019 G63 ED1. I used the mounting bracket but removed the suction cups and took the soft side of Velcro and glued it to the bracket cutting out to fit the bracket mount securely. I then mounted the hook portion of the Velcro to the windshield. By adjusting the bracket you can get the angle correct. I don’t like the look of the suction cups from the outside of the car as it screams radar detector steal me. The black Velcro kind of just disappears into the window from the outside. I also mounted my BlackVue dual channel 4K camera system as well. I am having problems posting all of the pics in one post so I will post under separate reply. The detector mount allows me to use my visor without any impediment.

Let me clarify. I HAD THIS installed by a local Car Toys. I have used the installer there several times and trusted him immensely. I personally modified the Valentine 1 mount as it required a little more attention. The wiring for the rear camera was routed through the gasket in the back door and run up to the window.

Incidentally, you must mount any windshield mount radar detector on the right side of the rear view mirror. There is a small square on the right side, that does not have the metallic oxide coating. If you put your radar detector or your toll-tag anywhere else, it will not work correctly. You can see the square with a flashlight, if you look carefully.

i saw that in the manual last night. Today I took a 350 mile road trip and can tell you that I didn’t notice any degradation of the signal from where it was mounted. The Valentine 1 worked as it’s supposed to.
On the mount of your valentine, did you installer use the mirror tap into the rear view mirror? I was reading that mirror tap doesn't work with MB. Any assistance would help greatly. Thanks.
