New G63 Owner - Newbie advice?
After two years, I finally pulled the trigger on a 2016 G63! It's easily the most impractical car I will ever own, but I absolutely love everything about it. Now I have a question for all the other owners of an AMG G - what do you wish you knew when you first bought the truck? If you could go back in time and look out for anything, do something different, install an accessory sooner, use an indy shop for service vs dealership, etc, what would it be? It's still under factory warranty for a year before the CPO kicks in. Thanks in advance!

Congratulations! I agree in that it is clearly the most impractical vehicle on the road and worth every penny. The only thing I will change will be the tires once mine go. Not a fan of summer sport tires on a G.

Soon: 2020 G63 Currently: 2016 GLE63 SUV + 97 F250HD, Before: 2013 G550, Range Rover Sport, 1984 CJ7
I changed the side market lights to Clear and Smoke which made the G looks really good (black G) in my opinion vs the orange and red it comes with. (easy do it yourself)

Also you might add spacers to widen the stance a bit, like H&R 15mm Spacers

Congrats. Our household is on G #10 We started with a 2003 (or maybe it was a 2002) G500 and now have two 2018 G63s!
While some aspects of the G are impractical, it is our fav car for daily driving. It is so narrow compared to almost all other cars and suvs and the rubber moulding on the doors and the built in side steps make it harder to "door ding" it and it is so easy to park. The high seating position makes it awesome in traffic and the sound of the Biturbo V8 never gets old!
