G550 paint protection, windshield film, etc
A few posters on here wanted to see my vehicle once finished.
Vehicle came stock with gloss selenite grey paint, I opted to go with a satin/matte finish while protecting the vehicle using XPEL stealth. Due to all the issues with windshields so far I had ExoShield added in hopes to alleviate those issues some.
Other small appearance mods - blacked out cladding reflectors, XPEL ceramic tint, and 24” Forgiato wheels
if you have any questions feel free to ask
For anyone in Detroit area or Midwest..Highly recommend motorwerksgroup (member on here) for anything automotive and FadeToBlack for protection films!

The turnaround was about 2 weeks. Full body PPF. It is not an easy task, ensure you find the best in your area to do it. FadeToBlack are experts at part removal to make it seamless and unidentifiable as possible.. Price for PPF is around 7800-8000 but is also self healing in the sun, which eliminates rock chips, small scratches, etc.
I cannot notice the difference after they put the pieces back on (handles, mirrors, trim) see picture below

Looks awesome, so the film creates a matte finish while preserving the original paint color? Guess that’s the solution to the lack of selenite matte paint I had posted about. Thanks for sharing.

Yes gives a selenite magno look, that’s why I did it, was disappointed to see MB didn’t offer it as an option, the stock paint color tones really exudes through, looks much nicer than matte gray wraps, as well as keeps it protected

It’s definitely better than nothing I supposed, but from my understanding is that it has to be replaced every 2 -3 years.
That seems like it may be a hassle...not only $400-500 to install but it needs to stay at the shop for a few days.

I didn’t find it a hassle at all since I was also taking the truck in for tint and ppf..
the price was fair especially considering the piece of mind I now have when driving. I was nervous to even drive home on highway from dealership not protected, as roads here in Michigan are terrible and every new G I see has had a crack windshield basically.
the wipers are completely fine, it’s only when you have rocks or debris on them or they are worn out that you have issues.. I always check my wipers now, but really no big deal .. if you take great care of it , it lasts, even if you have to replace film, still better than replacing windshield on this truck, in my mind

Honestly doesn’t feel much different, maybe slightly stiffer but 305/35 still gives some beef to tire and I wouldn’t cheap out on the rubber, happy with the Toyos

I would think your model year has it also.
its in that black area right behind the rear view mirror if you are looking from the outside.
zoom in on my picture and you can see it.
I could see it on your truck also.

Forgiato swapped my +45 offset for +10 and I cannot believe the difference, looks 100x better with wheels flush with fenders and more aggressive stance .. with 45 they were too tucked in and did not give the commanding presence needed

Wow, looks amazing.
Curious if they wrapped the bullbar, other black trim areas, and side mirrors, and the door hinges? Any issues withe film peeling on the tuckins or any areas? Also curious if anecdotally the shop relayed to you any particularity troublesome / difficult areas when wrapping the car? I've been flip flopping on whether to do this to my obsidian black when it gets delivered.

Hey Drew, I did not have any of the black parts wrapped with film, decided to just ceramic coat those areas. The roof was a first for them, most opt for black vinyl and save a grand.. I think the lines on the back area are pretty tough too.. overall g wagons are most troublesome to wrap, but i am happy with the outcome.

Also, is there any way to do a full wrap without removing the trim pieces? I shudder to think they will ever be put back the way they were at the factory. These detail shops really don't know sh~t about how to properly install these parts.

I only considered going somewhere that specializes in taking off these parts. So far no issues.
Also , my mirrors have been fine so far.
Another place told me they dont remove the trim pieces but i would see some seams
