battery maintainer newbie question
so after my ongoing battery debacles with my 2019 G63, i bought a battery maintainer. since i don't have an outlet near where i park, i opted to get a NOCO solar charger (we'll see how effective this ends up being.)
in any case, my newbie question is whether i can leave the alligator clamps attached to the battery terminals in the trunk all the time and just unplug the solar panel when i drive? i can probably figure out a way to run the wires through the floor board in the trunk and then just deal with the solar panel (which has a plug to connect to the cable with the alligator clamps) by putting facing it out a rear winder (or on the roof if needed - its weatherproof.)
any problems with this? appreciate any thoughts...

I wouldn't trust the alligator clips as a permanent connection. I would hard wire the ends to the terminal connectors. You could do this by cutting the alligator clips off and adding round connectors to mount under the nuts on the battery connectors. Less chance of them slipping off and shorting against something.
