Looking to buy a G500
Hi everyone, I currently have a supercharged 4runner that is my daily as well as offroader truck. It is super capable and reliable, however I have always wanted to build a G wagon and the time may have arrived. I am very familiar and have done from building to transplanting M112 and M113 platforms. But wanted to know more about things to look out for when looking for the car to buy. To be specific I am looking for a 2002-2007 G500. Any specific years to look for or stay away from? I'm specifically looking for the 500 because I am planning on doing a 55 N/A transplant. How are the transmissions on these trucks? Are they the same trans as the other 500 models such as the S, E.... and then attach to a transfer box for the 4wd system? Or are they completely different transmissions and housings? Any other pointers you can think of would be much appreciated. 🙏
