Advice for 33" Tires and spring spacers
I'm currently running a slightly larger tire than stock (275/65-18s 32.1") on my stock 18" wheels on my '13 G550.
Everything is stock, no rubbing/issues - only minor to moderate off-roading on occasion
Need new tires and looking to go to go slightly bigger 275/70-18 (33.4"). Mainly for look and a tad more ground clearance.
This has been discussed, but not clear if this will trigger electronics and/or if a lift is needed.
I'm thinking of adding a 20mm or 30mm spring spacer to support this. Noted suspension lift is better, but not sure if I can justify for the type of off-road use (low to moderate at most)
Questions:
- is more lift needed (i assume yes)
- will an alignment be needed if spacers are used?
- anything else needed (bigger sway bars etc.)?
I've heard some people use lifts with stock shocks that aren't longer and give a bad ride and/or blow the shocks quickly.
Thanks in advance for the guidance.
