G63 ordered in Feb Switched to 2020 Model
Just got an email from our dealer that our 2019 G63 - ordered in early February - was switched to the 2020 Model year. I'm happy because maybe some of the kinks will be worked out but there are some minor annoyances as things we ordered are no longer avail:
1) No Yacht Blue interior option
2) No 5-Spoke Wheels with Black Accents
3) Night Package only has one wheel option (as of now) and that's at an additional cost of 4,450 - on top of the 1800 night package charge (the wheel requirement is the 22” AMG Cross-Spoke Forged Wheels in Matte Black).
Honestly, I live in NY and the idea of 22" rims doesn't excite me too much given our city roads and the winter so kind of annoyed with that. They also haven't announced the new pricing so I'm curious to see if this switch is going to cost even more on the base.
Dealer sent us the same DOG that was kindly posted on this forum - it says preliminary so I'm wondering if there will be more options announced before this actually goes into production in a few months - any one have any ideas???

Frankly there normally are not any additional options added to the DOG later - what happens is the DOG is updated as more in announced on pricing - although frankly 2020 MSRP will be inline with 2019.
I guess the NY question that the Cali guy's will want to ask - is your agreement with your dealer MSRP - or MSRP + market adjustment to Be Determined Later ?

Thanks Fabbrisd - disappointing that there may not be other options added. And paying MSRP - it’s a Mercedes-owned/factory dealership.
Drew138 - I was told build date will be set in a bit but likely sept - they’re also waiting on me to update my spec based on those options that are no longer avail. And now I have to figure out if I want to spend another 4K on wheels I really don’t want just to get the night package (on top of already buying a smaller set of wheels for snow tires).

Crfiv - even at 22" the tires will have more meaty than my GLE63 wheels and they've been fine in NYC for last 4 years . (jinx?). Plenty of folks will be selling 20" wheels for cheaper winter sets. That's my plan (find a 20" set from someone going up to 22" and buy the old set for winter beaters). Cheers man!
