G550
HI everyone,
My S class lease is up in about 8 months and I am thinking about my next car to order. A few days ago, I test drove the 2019 G550 and was surprised about the ride quality. I have driven S class for 10 years and is hard to find another replacement, luxuries and comfortable as S Class. However, this time I have really decided to get something else. G550 is my first pick. I want to know your opinion about the new generation. Will it be a good replacement for my S class? Also, sounds like the lease offers are not attractive on G wagon and I have to finance. Please share your experience with me.

Mercedes doesn't have that great lease offers. I think the newer 19 or now 2020 G550 would be a great transition from a S class. So long as the doors don't bother you, you will feel right at home. Let us know what you end up doing!

Thanks for replying,
what I have noticed is most People want to order the G63 AMG instead of G550 ! Is it too much horse power difference and ride quality between these two models? I would rather same couple of thousands and order the G550 unless the G63 is a much better pick !

Soon: 2020 G63 Currently: 2016 GLE63 SUV + 97 F250HD, Before: 2013 G550, Range Rover Sport, 1984 CJ7
The G550 is the more practical of the two as an insanely impractical awesome vehicle. The G63 is the more insane insanely impractical awesome vehicle. When buying the insane, the G63 is more insane. Therefore it is the most sane option for the insanely awesome folks buying them.

Try out g550 at hwy, 70mph or higher at extended period of time. Vehicles with air suspension and streamlined aero, like S class, are a lot more planted. If you’re only doing inner city driving, then g wagon is fine.

No more MB:(
MB never has attractive leases on in-demand vehicles. Only when sales get soft will they improve residuals and MF's to incentivize leasing. Right now purchasing a G might make more sense depending on how long you plan to keep it.
