2019 G550 Low Oil warning

We got our 2019 G550 last November 2019 and after a month got a warning sign that we need to add 1 quart so took it to the dealer and they checked and added 1 quart. Two months go by, the same message pops up so another visit and this time the mechanic who worked on it the first time added 1.5 quarts. Now we are into the summer and intermittently the message comes up every few weeks. Meanwhile no oil on the garage floor or anywhere we park so I'm certain there isn't a leak and car rides perfect. if it weren't for the warning I wouldn't know anything is wrong.

Then this morning got the Red warning (see below) that oil is low so dropped it off to the dealer and will report back as to what this issue is. Again, no issues driving the 10 minutes to the dealer at all.

Maybe the sensor is bad? I doubt the oil pump is bad especially since no odd sounds or any signs of leakage.

Anyone else have the same problem?

I had the same issue on my 19. Turned out I needed a new engine - scored cylinders. Mercedes didn’t even offer an extended warranty which for a marquee vehicle I think is par for the course. Anyways, 6 weeks in the shop and I sold it the week I got it back. Good luck, I hope for your sake it’s something minor.

How many miles did you have on it when first low oil warning came up?

1st low warning was at 1100 miles then next one at 2500ish, now around 4500 miles it says low oil stop driving and turn engine off.

Many cars...
Typically Mercedes engines doesn't consume a lot of oil. So if you need to add a quart of oil every 1000 miles, you might have an engine issue. I remember back in the days, BMW M engines are notorious for oil consumption and it was known to go through a quart of oil every 500-1000 miles in the initial couple of thousand miles.

But since the engine in the Mercedes are low revving units and very relaxed, excessive oil consumption should be carefully observed.

Ram power wagon, sounds stupid I know but another raptor would have been boring (turbo v6) and I liked the increased space of a truck. Sound system and phone quality is also better in the new truck.
