anybody know of any hold on G63???
Received this from my dealer today. Would like to know if something real or the beginnings of games with my allocation. Any insight would be most appreciated. Just got this from dealer: “Sorry, There is a hold on G 63’s not likely it’ll be delivered this month factory has no information they are sharing If I find out anything I’ll let you know. Probably a software update and they need to complete software before they can update”

That email makes no sense, or at the least partial info - he is either trying to say the Factory Ready Date (Graz Austria) has been delayed - or that the VPC release date (US) has been delayed - which is it ?

Car finished production 7/18 and has been sitting at port awaiting transport. My sales person sent me that cryptic note then promptly went of a 4 day vacation. I went by dealer after work yesterday and spoke with GM and the business manager. There didn't seem to be anything off going on with my allocation, just a wait to get put on a boat to USA. My allocation is at MSRP and was nervous they were going to start playing the dealer value adjustment game or selling to highest bidder nonsense BUT from my long talk feeling them out I didn't get any indication they had any intention other than honoring our deal. Guess I won't know for sure until paperwork is signed but it looks like my salesman just got me fired up for nothing and then skipped town. Really excited for this car.

Olive Metallic. Black designo diamond stitch. Black ash trim. Black trim package with the black 22's. Almost did the Platinum magno with red designo interior but once I saw a picture of the dark olive green I switched to that. I think great color for boxy SUV. Works great on vintage Land Rover and Jeeps. So hopefully will do the trick on the G in person.

end-July and beginning of Aug is a vacation time for dock workers - but your dealer "should" have offered to call Mercedes distribution in the US to email Germany to put some fire under this for you... hate lazy dealers...

Car still at port waiting to get on a boat. Now 2 days shy of sitting there a full month. Anybody else with a build around 7/18 date window? Would like to see what range of cars is sitting in Europe. I know build around 2 weeks earlier made it to US no problem. Reason for holdup is pure speculation and likely will never know why MB sitting on it. I've heard of manufactures finding quality control issues with short runs of components that require that part being replaced. Last year one of the luxury manufacturers found a problem with a 2 week run of transmission cases that required that unit being swapped out. Would be weird this late in 2019 product run for there to be any software or emissions issues as that should be sorted for the full year run by now.
