Side mount

Can anyone identify these side jerry can mounts? I can't seem to find the right ones despite different keywords.

Search for: mercedes reservekanister

It's a LeTech roof rack: https://lennartz-technik.de/en/produ...k-accessories/

The mounting rail above the rear tire, to the quarter panel sheet metal is aircraft seat mounting track, known as "L-track": https://www.uscargocontrol.com/Aircr...SABEgLDUfD_BwE

It's a gmb-mount jerry can holder: http://shop.gmb-mount.de/ausruestung/kanister-halter/

Try emailing both LeTech and gmb-mount and email the photo, and ask where the adapter can be found, that holds the two jerry cans and fastens the entire unit to both the L-track and the roof rack.

When you email them, call the adapter "zweierkanisteranschluss" The two individual jerry can holders are attached to a double bracket that attaches to the L-track and the roof rack.

Holy cow! Talk about a detailed answer. Thank you so much! That L bracket seems to be bolted straight on the body panel based on how it looks like in that link. Might have to look at another route as I don't want to permanently bolt something on. Thank you again!

One option for the L-track is to mount it to the painted sheet metal using 3M double side automotive mounting tape. The tape is unbelieveably strong and is used to mount spoilers, etc, on new vehicles today.

The L-track is mainly holding the can mount away from the body of the vehicle. There is little vertical weight being supported. The LeTech roof rack and double canister adapter are holding the vertical weight. The canisters are hanging suspended by the roof rack.

This means you can use adhesive promoter on the back side of the L-track, fasten the tape to the L-track, use adhesive promoter on the sheet metal, then stick the L-track to the sheet metal. It should hold until the aftermath of Armageddon is evaluated.

If the whole thing needs to be removed, a hot air gun and dental floss under the L-track should get it off. Clean and polish the paint and job done.

That's a good point. I'll reach out to them. Thanks for all the guidance!
