I want a carbon fiber steering wheel to match my trim but I am not a fan of the Carbon Fiber/Dinamica microfiber steering wheel which is a $900 option. Is the carbon fiber steering wheel available with nappa leather rather than the microfiber material?

I asked my salesman this question and he doesn't know. In the 2020 ordering guide it shows the nappa leather/wood steering wheel as a $600 option and says "only available with G manufaktur black piano lacquer tim or AMG carbon fiber trim" but in the bullet points below it says "top and bottom section in black piano lacquer" and doesn't mention anything about carbon fiber being a possibility.

Any clarity on this would be much appreciated. If I can't order the wood/leather steering wheel in carbon fiber/leather then I'll have to decide on either selecting the standard steering wheel in black nappa leather or the carbon fiber/dinamica microfiber wheel if I insist on definitely having carbon fiber on my steering wheel.

The carbon fiber wheel is only available with dinamica. I was worried about the durability of the dinamica but have heard that it holds up really well. If you really want a carbon/leather wheel you could get the dinamica replaced with leather through a third party later on.

VailG63 is correct. I went through this exact same ordeal. Even going through the AMG line up to see if the leather / carbon trim was availalbe on any other AMG. Couldn't find one. Only the suede and carbon optoin exists. I ended up getting the carbon / dinamica and its fine. Still would prefer leather but wanted carbon more than I wanted leather at the end of the day. The wheel does look amazing and gets lots of compliments. Feels nice in hand. I guess I worry about getting it dirty but have heard its easy to clean and durable. And you can always have the wheel rewrapped in leather which I may do some day!

@vailG63 @drew138 Thank you both for the info. Now I know. I will definitely go with the carbon/dinamica steering wheel as, like you said @drew138 , I want the carbon on the steering wheel more than I want the leather on it! Also good to know that the wheel can be rewrapped in leather through a 3rd party at any point. Kudos to you both, gentlemen!

I just ordered mine and the steering wheel options for the G550 is way better you can get the wood to match the center console wood. I went with the L6L with ZG2 really wanted the wood steering wheel but I have the Black Piano on my s class and wanted to change it up.
