Audit My 2021 G63 AMG Order Please

Hello Fellow G/Lovers

I wish everyone a lovely Christmas. A month ago, I went and put a $5000 deposit on a 2021 Mercedes Benz G63. My Sales Person says the vehicle will arrive in 7-8 months, However, likely I won't see this car until November / December of 2020. Attached is my option list, let me know what your thoughts are. Let me know if there is anything important I'm missing or I need to make any adjustments.

Thanks,

If you do heated steering wheel, you lose the AMG control buttons on either side of the steering wheel (option U88)

Unless something changes for 2021 for U88, remove heated steering wheel....and make sure you test the dinamicia in your hands....Great for headliner but bothers me on a steering wheel.

Not criticizing - but I’m fascinated. Why the speed limit removal and the carbon engine cover?

Looks like you ticked most boxes

Rear seat entertainment is one of the few things I see not optioned?

I reside in Northern Virginia. It does get pretty cold here from November to March. I'm wondering if It makes sense to opt for a pair of warm gloves and get the "AMG Control" buttons instead.

Probably going to contact the Sales Person and remove the Heated Steering Wheel. I added it because of the cold weather here + the Carbon Fiber would be more exposed parts. Not sure if the CF area would even get warmed up anyways with that option. This is the steering I ordered I believe. Are you talking about the sides? You don't like the feel?

Great way for Benz to milk another $2,200. It simply felt odd having a car be able to go faster than 150MPH however be told it's limited. So I had to get it removed. On the Engine Cover, my understanding was everything would be CF. However I googled some pictures and it seems like it's a very small area in the front that's in CF. So if that's the case I'll remove it! Do you know if those Sides would be also be CF?

The Sales Person talked me out of it. He said the system was the old outdated model. He simply mentioned having two iPads in the hands of children would yield better result. God willing like my other vehicles, I keep them until 100,000 miles so I figured I'd order it the right way.

I could understand the limiter but can’t understand the engine cover...regardless of the amount. Lol

Unlike Land Rover, the CF/wood sections of the steering wheel don’t get heated on Benzes. Yes, the dinamica sections on the sides should be tested out first. Much prefer perforated leather.

Like Brabus or Renntech? I wonder if they have the same access and if it'll void the warranty?

Now that I know it's a very small piece on the front, 100% removing it.

Interesting, may have to re-visit the steering wheel options again. I did have a BMW M3 Competition Package and the steering wheel was all in Dinamica / Alcantara. I did enjoy having, however I owned that car for short period. So I'm not sure what's the long term effect would be. As in, will it peel off etc...

Does anyone know by getting the Tow Package, what options get sacrificed. I thought it was a neat option, however when we clicked it, the configuration at the Benz Dealer went crazy wanting us to change many items. So we didn't click it, however I think I'd like to have it.

Tow Package? There's nothing about a "Tow Package" in the ordering guide.....

Does the "Tow Hitch" come standard? I thought it was an option and not complimentary? Look at the White G63 vs the Gray G63. The Gray one has it, the white one doesn't have it.

The MY2020 Order guide lists it under standard equipment. Beats me on why that white one doesn't have it.

Outstanding, good to know it's Standard on the MY202. The Gray one I got is a 2020 Mercedes Benz G63 AMG For sale at Bentley Dealership in Washington DC: https://www.bentleytysons.com/2020-m...-63-c-1912.htm You can see it has the Tow Hitch.

They want nearly $240K ($239,888). Good time to be a G63 AMG owner. What a fabulous merchandise.

Screw that, I'd buy a Lambo SUV before I ever bought a G63 for any where near that.

The Urus will be $100K in a few years, The G63 will keep it's value. It's like the Patek Philippe Nautilus or Rolex Daytona White Face / Black Face.

I totally agree on the Lambo choice. These markups are getting out of control. Mercedes needs to wrap their hands around this nonsense. Between their markups and dealer markups they aren't making this an enjoyable experience for those of us who have placed orders and potential customers. Come on Mercedes!!

Got this attached message from my sales person on Thursday. Looks like the Factory has shut down, pushing all the orders back further.
