2020 G63 Electronics and Starting Issues

I picked up my 2020 G63 on January 11 and have loved the first 500 miles except there are several issues that have popped up that I am worried about. A week after I got the car I went to start it and the infotainment screen turned on but was just black. I saw on previous threads that this can be a common problem with the Command system so I force restarted it and it has worked fine since. Today I had the car parked for about 40 minutes and when I got back in and hit the start button once to turn on the electronics everything came on as normal. After the "AMG" screen fazed out I stepped on the brake and hit the ignition to start the car but nothing happened. I let off the brake and then stepped on it again and tried to start the car a second time, but still nothing happened. Finally on the third try the car started. As I was driving home I went to change the radio station, but nothing happened when I turned the dial in the center console. I tried using the touchpads on the steering wheel and there was no response on the infotainment screen or the digital instrument cluster. After roughly 7 minutes of driving I started to get very delayed responses in both screens. When I got home after 12 minutes of driving and came to a complete stop the screens and controls suddenly worked without any delay. I am bringing the car in on Monday to have it looked at. I'm hoping that it is a minor software issue or a loose battery connection. The car not starting on demand is what really worries me. Has anyone else experienced or heard of similar issues?

I noticed that my new MY21 G63 had trouble starting a few times. Usually turns over on the 3rd or 4th attempt. Happened 3 or 4 times so far and the truck has about 1400 miles on it now. Haven't experience a lag on the screen though. Have you checked under systems menu to make sure that there are no firmware updates available for your truck? Might also be the amount of pressure you put on the brakes when starting. I have had the same starting issues on my McLarens and it always turned out to be that I wasn't putting enough pressure on the brakes when trying to turn the ignition over.

This could be due to chip shortage many car manufactures are dealing with. We purchased a daily (not benz) and noticed many electronic problems (Apple carplay not connecting, keys in car and doors locking). When we took to service, they said its missing a few chips. Im sure this is no surprise, but the reason many used cars are being sold higher amount. At least with used cars, you don't run across chip issues. Im hoping for your case its a easy fix as it was for me. Good luck!

I am also experiencing these same starting issues on my 2021 G63 with only 2k miles on it. It would take me 3-4 times to try to start up the engine sometimes. Sometimes it would start on the first try. Anyone come up with a remedy or know what is causing this? Thanks in advance!

Is this standard procedure used by most G owners? Pressing the Start button to activate the truck's electronics, and then depressing the brake pedal and pressing Start again to start the engine? I just press the brake pedal and start the engine. The infotainment system seems flakey at times, but not reliably so that I can describe any chronic behavior.
