2002 G500 Open Tailgate from Inside
Dear Community,
I own a 2002 G500 and was wondering if the trunk door should open from inside via the door-handle under the rear window.
It somehow doesn't work on my car, pulling the door handle doesn't do anything. Is this because something might be broken or is there a child-proof lock activated?
I want to take the car out for camping and it would be much easier to use the tailgate vs. climbing out through one of the rear doors :-)
Any help would be much appreciated.

As far as I know, there is no child lock for the rear door interior latch, so if it's not working, something is broken. Strangely, MB deleted the interior rear door latch on later models (kind of PITA)

Ok thank you for your input! Do you know for sure that the handle is supposed to work and is not just a 'dead' handle for cars that have the 7-seater option?
