A full body PPF is at least $8k and anything less would make me take a serious look at the installer! And 17%?! It cannot be that high! I am not sure where you got that number from but I would venture to say it is no more than 8%.
Here is a $96,000 markup in a deal one of my friends completed at his Benz Dealership. $96,000 /$160,000 = 0.60% MarkUp. If you sell the car at MSRP, you have around 17% Front MarkUp.
A+++ Clear Bra Job, Custom Wrap, No Pre-Cut, full edges wrapped can be had for $5000 - $6000

Perfect, that'll take care of it. We did a Bentley Bentyaga with a full XPEL Stealth Wrap and it was fantastic. You'll like it.
I have never heard of such markups...maybe a dealer can chime in? And is that a lease deal?
This is when they were clobbering people at $240K prices when the 2019's just came out. The Triple Net Invoice/Cost on the car is only $157,935 as you can see on the sheet. So even at MSRP of $179K, it's a nice 17% markup. I know until recently, dealers were still selling them for $240K.

dealer is now refusing to pay for anything. They want the car back because they have buyers for it. Ridiculous - not sure what to do now
So wait, your brand new G comes in and they deliver it like this. Because you are not ok with the condition of it, they will
just take it back and sell it to someone else? That makes no sense. How could a dealership deliver a vehicle in this condition?

I think it's because I got a deal so close to MSRP and they are back to their 30K markups...

They are bluffing you, but I say if the car is sexy and it's the right color combo keep it. If you can wait 7-8 months for your 2021, give it back. For example, here is a 2020 G63 AMG, fantastic color combo on eBay for MSRP: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2020-Merced...A/233552652519

I think so too - my concern is I won't get as great as a deal I did on this one...hard to tell whether the markups will be back if the market recovers...and with a 2021 price increase, I'm not sure if it's worth it. Will need to consider my options. Still going to get MBUSA involved as I withdrew deposits at other dealers and already gave up build spots for this summer.

...mine arrived packed like this even if not coming from overseas:
I bought mine off the showroom floor, thats probably why it wasn't wrapped like it came from the factory. Was told that the scratches could have been caused by a brush for removing snow from pavement.

general sales manager of the dealership called and said "stop driving our car; we're taking it back" point blank. Rudest person I've ever encountered. He literally told me "it's about the money and sorry we can't do anything for you." Going to keep the car for now and PPF it as my guy did a test patch and it hides the "swirls" on the paint. Was going to PPF any replacement anyway...would highly recommend avoiding MB WESTMINSTER as this behavior is ridiculous. Taking it up with MBUSA.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with MBUSA. Keep the car, never deal with that dealership. No reason to raise blood pressure. They are turning such a nice event in your life into a nasty one. I'd do exactly what you just said. Do the PPF and be done. Most people do PPF on the whole car on a much lower price car. I've been thinking of doing it on the white one when it comes god willing.

these dealers are sharks. I’d agree. If you can keep it, do so. If you’re not happy with the swirls and you think it’s going to bother you even after putting the ppf on, return it.
Went to an installer today to test out whether the XPEL Stealth would cover the scratches in the paint and it worked (the film is above the AMG badge) !!! Will be wrapping the whole car for $6K this Friday - was told it would take around a week
Good to see it will help! I would ask the dealer to split the cost of it since they were willing to take it back and that would wind up being less cost to them in the long run.

After the GM of the dealership pretty much told me to go "f**k yourself and don't come back," I'm done with them...crazy people over there - immediately ripped off the license plate frame on my car with the dealer's name haha

Sorry, I missed that part. Oh well, at least you will have a fully protected G when it is done. Be sure to leave them the appropriate reviews on Google and Yelp.

Yes exactly - once the car is wrapped in XPEL, no one will be able to notice anything (scratches are 100% covered) and hopefully I'll forget that the swirls/marring in the paint is even there! Lesson learned though - going to avoid buying out of state when possible. If it wasn't peak corona season, I would have flown out to inspect the car before buying the damn thing - luckily the rest of the G is light years ahead of my 2015, which I got rid of yesterday for an amazing price at a local dealer.

You'll get a Survey from Mercedes Benz North America. That Survey with the "0"s will cost them thousands of dollars in earned revenue. CSI is big with new car deals.

I sure hope so - I haven't gotten anything in my e-mail but hopefully something will come by mail. Asking MBUSA to at least help with repair costs (might as well try asking) given that the General Manager didn't want to do anything.

Yep, that's it baby. Looks fantastic, I'll do that to my car too. Worth every penny, it helps with resale value too. On Matte color it makes even more sense, the paint is too fragile. He is going to Cut to Order right? All the Edges, nice and clean wrapped. No Pre-Cut film hopefully.

Pre-cut kits are used by the best installers and they are over-sized so that they can wrap the edges. Rule of thumb is always shop the installer, not the product.
