OK. I went and drove it. I knew starting up and pulling off the lot it was going to be a "keeper". The combination of the stress of the purchase, the current world environment, and the sheer joy of driving freedom with my music playing.... I may have cried a little on the way home! LOL.

Such an amazing vehicle!

Going to sanitize the interior this evening (I wouldn't even let them detail it), sit with a large glass of wine, and work out what all the buttons do. Thanks again for all the support, folks - I sincerely appreciate it, and am happy with the call I made

Interim pics - these are the ones the dealer sent last weekend, which I'm now excited to celebrate! I wouldn't let them detail the interior (or really go in it at all), so I'll find time to work through the interior this weekend and take some better pics. The ~30 minute drive home from the dealership, which is likely the longest drive I'll get for another few weeks still, was a blast. Sounds absolutely incredible, seats are so comfortable, fit and finish on everything is just... wow. Honestly also a *lot* less "roly-poly" than I was expecting.... and I haven't even tried it with the chassis in "Sport" yet. Cruised over the local potholes and speed bumps without even noticing them!

I got my wireless carplay adapter installed, now I need to work out the menu-ing system. This is my first Benz, and it's all fairly counterintuitive - that's half the fun though!

Sooo happy with my color choices. I went back and forth so many times on the wheels (which actually look great in real life), and interior. Even the overpriced carbon fiber feels "worth it". Got the $1300 "unlimited glass fixes" policy (read the small print, also). Really great dealership experience with Kevin at Mercedes of Lynnwood.

I recommend that you consider something like ClearPlex to help protect your windshield.

Congratulations!!! I also have Trail Package and love how comfortable it makes the suspension (I did remove the mud flaps though in 5 mins)

Had anyone test drove both with and without Trail to feel the difference in suspension ?

Great decision! Life is too short. Enjoy it both driving and as it rests in your garage. Good health to you.

Would be interested to see what this is about. I am about to smash my RR tech.....the connectivity issues drive me crazy. Hoping new G has some solid working tech. Wireless would be even better.

Many brands have wireless carplay - BMW was the pioneer here. Sadly, Mercedes isn't one of them (in the G, at least). You can buy an aftermarket USB adapter that simulates wireless carplay, and works "fairly well". At least as well as any tech in a Range Rover at least ;p

I'm with you. I sold my 2018 RR after 6 months the tech was so bad (nav screens constantly crashing, seat moving whilst driving etc). The G is already markedly better than that - although COMAND has a steepish learning curve if you've come from BMW or Rover. Certainly MUCH less infuriatingly "laggy" than the Rover systems.
