12V Cig connectors Always ON

Hey gang,

Found a great solution for BlueTooth audio with a cheap simple Bluetooth FM receiver. Found stations in LA that have poor signal (low to no interference) and am really happy with how the audio turned out without doing a full blown re-install.

I am looking to use the 12V connector behind the arm rest, but it doesn't turn off. Also tried the one in the passenger footwell and it seems not to turn off either.

It's a super small unit and I am sure the draw is minimal, but I'd rather not buy a new battery 2 months from now, or find myself stranded.

Is there any fix for this?

btw this is the BT unit I went with.

Radio-locator.com will allow you to find the best stations to avoid interference.

Hoping to check this one off the list so I can get to the fun stuff.

Just read the manual, and apparently that's just how it is on these trucks. Guess I just have one more thing to do when starting up the truck for now. May rewire one of these outlets to a connected ignition on 12V switch. But very low on the list. Just glad to have some nice/inexpensive BT audio now.

i found there is a lot of space on the bottom left side of the glove box to wire in a panel mounted 12V socket. Also the fuse panel is right there so getting everything out is super simple, if you're ok with cutting a hole in the glove box (mine already has one so i'll be re-purposing for this) Clean and simple. You'll have to check which fuse to add a circuit to that's switched power.

My truck is a 2008 G55. I can assure you the front two (Passenger footwell, behind the armrest) stay on w the truck off. Haven't tried it in the rear. Trying to keep this thing as inconspicuous as possible. @shiann at the moment I am trying to leave this truck as mint as possible, so going to just deal with unplugging and plugging it in for now.
