Need help ID'ing a component

hey guys,

Just went out to the truck to assess how I'm going to tackle the lift installation this weekend.

Hopped under the truck after I put a plan in place for the front suspension and saw the below disconnected.

Looks like there's been some have baked attempts to get this fixed w some adhesive.

I have noticed an ABS and SRS light coming on randomly... which I'm going to track down after the lift is installed and I familiarize myself w the mechanical under-workings of the truck more.

This is just behind the driver's side front tire. With my current project the only time I will have uninterrupted to work on the truck is this weekend

Thanks for any guidance.
-Ian

Did some research, this is a level height sensor (A9065420118)

Seems to be used in a lot of different Mercedes platforms.... what purpose doe this have with a truck w/o airbagged suspension?

It adjusts the up/down angle of the headlights.

Thank you!

I did notice the reflection of the headlights on traffic signs on the interstate shaking. Going to take care of it this weekend!

Still Looking
I realize this is an old thread, but I was hoping for some assistance in locating a replacement level height sensor (A 906 542 01 18). I made a blunder when changing out the springs on my 2008 G55, and forgot to disconnect the arm before lowering the rear axle and broke the lever. My searches for this part number on the MB part sites indicate that this part is for a 2013 to 2018 models and will not fit a 2008.

Has anyone had to purchase this part? If so, where did you source the replacement?

Thank you for any assistance that can be provided.

Hey thanks for reaching out via DM.

To close the loop, I was able to fix the union from the lever to the sensor by creating a friction hold between the ball and the rod.

Here's a breakdown of the parts, and it will fit your application.

Good luck, keep us posted as I am sure more and more people will have this issue as this is a super small thing to overlook during such a big install.

That same useless part is used an many models. My E350 wagon had two of them for the self leveling suspension. I had to drive home from New Jersey at 45 MPH with no rear suspension because the cheezy plastic pivot broke! The new parts have a steel pivot, but seriously, what were they thinking?

BTW, I think this sensor on the G may be related to the roll-over protection/esp system. But I could be wrong.
