Which G63 is a better buyer from these options? (14-17)

Hi everyone, new member, in the market for a G63. I have narrowed it down to 3 options and would like your opinions:

Option 1:

2017 G63 White

$90k

46k miles

Factory warranty remaining a few months

Option 2:

2015 G63 White

$77k

44k miles

No warranty

Option 3:

2014 G63 White

$60k

59k miles

3 year powertrain warranty from Mercedes

All 3 trucks are in great condition, dealer serviced and all up to date, like new inside and out. I am leaning towards option 3 as it has the warranty for 3 years and I don’t see it taking too much of a deprecation hit from $60k. I drive about 6-7k miles per year and will probably keep it 3-5 years. My only concern with option 3 is the higher mileage, but then again with the warranty that eases my mind. How are these trucks with 60k+?

Any input is appreciated. Thank you

Cant comment on high milage as mine is a 2013 and still only has 6K on the clock.

With that said, I would approach it with money in, money out, being the biggest factor. The milage seems relatively within the same approx range, especially once you add an additional 3-5 years of ownership on them.

SO assuming all 3 options are clean inside/out, I would go with the lowest price option. The year to me would play no role because it certainly wont play a role when you sell it.

I'd pick the one that has been cared for the best having all its scheduled service completed. It needs documented records to prove it. If they all have that level of history, then #1 since it isn't my money I'm spending.

As a general rule of thumb, all other things being equal, always go with the latest model year you can afford. Generally refinements are made over the years and the model year will make a difference upon resale.

17 has carplay and updated rear view camera. Makes it a much better car. Just sold my 16 but I remember something was updated in 16 or 15 engine or transmission wise

Thank you, that was my logic as well in terms of lowest price

Thanks for the replies, it is always nice to have the small updates that happened over the years, but in terms of paying $30k more for these I don't know if I can justify that. I did a country wide search as well and it seems the 2014 is priced very well considering it has a Mercedes warranty. I will go take one more look at all 3 before I make my final decision in a day or two.

I just bought almost exactly your option 3! While Apple CarPlay is nice, it's not worth $30K! I looked at later trucks, but for me, the turbo engine, with the increased potential for expensive maintenance/repairs and the annoying auto start/stop were huge disincentives. The warranty is a huge piece of mind too as G drive trains are expensive to fix. Plus I figure that the 2014-2015 range is right at the sweet spot on the depreciation curve for a G.
