Vibration during up shifts ?

Anyone experienced this in 2019-20 G63 that when there are up shifts transition there’s a vibration with some noise? It happens most of the times but sometimes it doesn’t. So that tells me it’s not by design. The dealership foreman rode with me and said some other Amg cars also do it and didn’t provide a solution. I want to check if that’s indeed on other g63s as well. Let me know

That is not normal..one of the primary reasons I enjoy this gen g63 better than the last gen I owned is that the transmission is buttery smooth...get it documented what you are experiencing and get mbusa involved quickly.

The transmission does tend to hold a gear now and then but the shifts are never accompanied by any vibration or noises....these cars are great but they do need regular servicing and adjustments and yes.....warranty work.

Cheers

Ok thanks to you both. I’ll try one more time with the workshop

Mine does this and has 2k miles. Coming from RR's (much like your collection) it is a bit disturbing.

Ok..I’m relieved that I’m not the only one..

mine actually started right after break in period when I pushed a bit in sport plus mode. I thought it was a feature, faint vibration and sound with shifts, but it has begun to happen when engine warms up, even in normal mode. Perhaps both of us nerds and with RR are a bit sensitive..lol... I plan to take it to the workshop on Tuesday

Please let us know as I was planning on having this addressed at the next service. The transmission is also quite clunky when it’s cold. It may also be the dct In the 63. When I test drove the new gen g550 I don’t remember any vibration or clunkiness.

Do you happen to have a video you could upload to Youtube or something? I'm not sure if I've seen it so much on my new G63, but on my 2015, when the transmission was cold, shifts were definitely a bit clunky.

Actually there’s no clunkiness in the transition to gears
- it shifts smooth but between the up-shifting there’s a faint vibration and little rattle/sound. I’ll try to make a video

I’m happy to share that after annual service the issue has been taken care of, so far no issues after transmission software update. I’ve driven sport+ multiple times with hard accelerations etc ...
