Considering an 05 - what to look for?

What sort of issues did this model year have? Any general things to look for? Being shown a one owner car with 75k miles. In NJ always garaged.

2005 G55K
Check carfax for any issues.
Check underbody for any rust spots.
Check around windshield and all windows for rust bubbling.
Check rain gutters for rusting.
Check for more rust anywhere else - look carefully
Check paint thickness (if you can) for any repaint/respray information.
Check behind the rear tire carrier for any dents or damage.
Check front bumper for rusting around the fog light surrounds and center grill slots.
Check all interior plastics for cracking/peeling.
Check that front seats work in all powered directions.
Check that all the speakers work (rear door speakers play a muffled bass track only) and subwoofer under the rear bench is most likely blown due to age.
Check under the front driver and passenger carpets for water.
Test drive and check all 3 differentials lock and unlock.
Check the recirculating ball steering that the goop is black and has no water (will be milky if there is water)
Check for engine oil leaks (rear of the engine, valve cover gaskets, oil pan, etc)
Check for any other leaks around the transfer case and differential housings.
Ask for documentation when the last time all oils were changed (engine oil, transfer case oil, differential fluid, brake fluid, etc)
Check sunroof operates open and closed
Check windows all go up and down (common issue)
Check all door locks

That's a pretty good list, but of course not all inclusive.

75k miles for a 2005 is relatively low (5k a year). See if you can get service records/warranty work records. Are you looking at a G500 or G55k?
