if anyone wondered..... G wagon's do really well in an accident we discovered

it was really the main reason we justified the G63, even with a landcruiser...... capability, performance ) the missing part of the 80 series) and ruggedness......

sadly my wife was rear ended by by a car that appears not to have even hit the brakes when the 50mph traffic came to a full hard stop...... she was fully stopped and then hit from behind and even pushed forward into a Raptor 10 feet in front of her hard enough to truly crunch up the front.....

my wife walked away a bit stiff but not even a scuff - luckily the passengers in the car that hit her survived and were mostly okay....so fa as I know.

We'll see what happens for repair/ totalling the G in a few days, but I'm super impressed with how well it protected her - couldn't ask for anything more.

stay safe out there....

Glad your wife is okay! G wagens are indeed strong. It looks like another MB did the damage.

Dang dude... glad she's OK. The G's impact tough alright, although I saw an instance where it hit a smaller car and rolled over completely, high COG I think is the weak spot.
I know you had it on the market, so is it a situation where you can just total it and get the value out?

Glad your wife is safe! The G definitely doesn't look like it was in a ~50mph rear ender at all, but at that speed there's a good chance the body is all tweaked.

That car feared pretty well for hitting a parked SUV at 50 MPH. It is almost as if they were driving slower.

Thank God everyone is ok.

Safety is the main reason I went with a G over any other 4x4.

Is it really safe?

The Mercedes that rear ended you did well. Looks like the G wagon has no crumble zones. Your wife absorbed the impact rather than the car.

Thanks all - a week later wife is only a bit sore and we're waiting for the final estimate..... last I knew it was over 40k in repairs, so expect it'll total out, frame rails in front are bent they say.... going to look at it Monday and get the final verdict....

truly sad, loved the color and overall truck. but likely will replace it with a 15' -17' wagon.... looks Like I have a buyer on the C63 so timing all fell into place.
