The stock tires on the 63's suck in the snow. Nearly impossible to get stuck but you will be sliding all over the place. Also longer braking distances.

i have trail package... think that makes a difference?
Hi, great paint color and rims. I have the same scheme in 2019 G63 minus the bull bar (not legal in Europe)
Amazing car but you really want to equip it with the right solution to drive in winters. I personally prefer separate winter and summer tires sets over all year ones. I m not totally sure about MY20 but the 22” rims on mine came with 295/40 summer tires - not good for bad weather.
if you have the same summer set as stock you could::
- swap out the stock 295/40 for 275/40 r22 Pirelli winter scorpion winter tires like I did (also suggested in this forum s threads) . The tire will be marginally stretched (~1%) but the solution is fine. Also Pirelli scorpion is a quite good one. Maybe also Continental offers a similar tire
- buy a separate set of wheels (from Mercedes or 3rd party) with smaller rims (eg 19 or 20”) and buy winter tires for that size. On 19” or 20” you have many more tires models to choose from.

I think it makes sense to just get a dedicated winter setup. U want your ride to be bulletproof. I think it’s a kick in the pants if you got a wicked ride that can’t hold up to the elements like it’s supposed to.
