G550 or G63 in terms of reliability

So I am on the waitlist for a G550 but I can switch it to a G63 at any time. My only concern is that the G63 might be a bit less reliable because of its engine and power.

Both are reliable and come with the same 4 year full factory warranty. You can also buy a Mercedes extended warranty on either. G63 retains its value better and is more fun to drive and has higher demand. If you can switch it to a G63 at MSRP and the wait time is not too much longer I would opt for the big boy model.

AMG engines are assembled by the one person on the signature plaque so I would think the engines are just as or more reliable than a non-AMG engine. If you go with the 63 and use the additional HP, you will only be going through tires faster.

Neither one is more reliable than the other so get whichever one you like more since it appears you can get either at about the same time.

Probably g63 if you drive both the same way since engine/parts are rated for higher performance..no not a biased opinion ...

"I am on the waitlist for a G550 but I can switch it to a G63 at any time" - now that's funny - how long are you willing to wait ?

COVID is again accelerating in the EU - including Austria.

Factory PO's have been issued for ALL G-Wagen's that are scheduled to be built in time to reach the US by end-December - that's the best case.

Remember - a order is a order when you have a Factory PO# - anything less is you have a "Request with your dealer"

I think the OP means he can get on a list for G63 from a 550 which could mean a two year wait 🧐
