G63 with no spare tire carrier?
Just picked up a 2015 G63 and was wondering if you could spec one from the factory without a spare tire carrier? It doesn't have the holes or anything. I definitely want to add the spare tire carrier but was told i would need a whole new tailgate. On the other hand if anyone likes the bare look i'm down to trade tailgates lol.

I believe all G wagons come with spare tire carrier. Your G has been modified to have the 3 holes covered by a body shop or swapped with a 4x4 squared rear door from G550. So the question is do you have a spare tire?

Hopefully there’s probably someone here in the forum that might want to swap with you to have that clean look in the rear. I had mine off for almost a year then just recently put the spare tire back on again to change it up. G/L though
Just added 3 rubber grommets
Your rear door is cleaner than this look.
This is now, still need to find a OEM wheel + rubber to match the rest of the wheels

@HYPMODE how did you get the tire cover to stay on without the ring?
I tried on my K02's and if I really shook it, I could dislodge it.
I've kind of left that idea in the past, but curious to know how yours is staying on.
Great looking G!

I have read that you were trying to solve this issue before, I too was trying to make it work for me. I didn’t want the ring on but only just the cover. The funny thing was... I was making it harder than it’s suppose to be, haha. I simplified it by drilling 2 holes on inner metal tube attached to the cover to matched the existing hole on spare tire mount. I used a 3” locking pin to lock it in place but attached a paracord to it so I can pull on it to take off. The hard part is getting your arm slide between the rear glass door & inside the spare tire, then inserting the locking pin the holes. It gets easier the more you do it 🥴. It’s still a temporary fix for me but works good for now. The cover is lock in place & does not move out at all. I had it on for a while now & I check regularly for any movements. So far so good! I will take pictures tomorrow to for show & tell. Lol
