2017 G63 Advice
Hey guys,
I am new to the forum and fairly new to the G class. I purchased a slightly used 2017 G63 a few years ago with the intention of selling it/trading it in prior to the expiration of the factory warranty. Now I am considering keeping it for a few more years ( I currently have 42k on it and my warranty expires 03/2021). I have had no major problems with it to date and have kept it regularly serviced.
Also, I have been following many of the threads about purchasing an extended warranty. There are certainly some strong opinions out there, leaving me undecided.
That said, I would like some advice on the 2017 G63 model in particular. Does this particular year have any known problems or issues that I need to have assesed prior to allowing my warranty to run out? Is this particular year and model one I should avoid once the warranty expires? Any known or common failures with higher mileages?
I feel like I did my due diligence prior to purchase and searched this forum prior to asking but could not find exactly what I was looking for. There seems to be a wealth of information on this forum, much of it learned the hard way and I hope to use that knowledge to my advantage if possible. I have always been a Porsche guy and the intermediate shaft bearing failures with the 996's of the past have fueled my trepidation with "trusting" the dealership, etc....

For what I gather. The 2017-2018 has they are the last 2 years of gen is pretty solid.
Worrie about how you dry your G in the garage for rust and check for rain gutters paint chipping.
