1997 Diesel G Wagon

Help needed ever here of 1997 Diesel G wagon?
Brand new to the forum i live in upstate NY . Great to here all the stories and follow all the interesting facts about the unbelievable classic machines . Well anyways I have a friend who purchased a 1997 Diesel G wagon and wants to sell it . I tried everyone I know to find out what it is worth or how to come up with a price To compare it to. Everyone I tried they all had no idea or even heard of one in the US. I did some research and a insurance guy who’’s wife works at DMV said 2 years ago there was one other registered in the US? They said she bought it from importer from Germany and was a military model? It has a Brabus body package kit on it but no performance mods. Now it has a very heavy duty undercarriage and goes great down the highway and is very tight for a 1997 with 123k. My question is what is it worth and does anyone know anything about these or even seen one? I would love to make a offer but no idea what it’s worth. I just sold my 2014 G wagon and this is way cooler looking and I love the old school look it has . Please chime in with any info. I know you all have the expertise and may have heard of or seen one I could not find anything on the web about this model anywhere . I asked the dealer by us they did they never seen one either. I am going to meet her I’ll send photos look forward to your thoughts and opinions

Post it over on ClubWagen. You'll get a lot more answers for Pre-MBUSA W463 models over there, as a lot more people have early W463's and many have gone through the import process for the older vehicles.. If it wasn't imported by Europa then I'm not sure how the title status would be impacted as it's not 25 years old yet (2 more years). That may be fine in some states for import (since it's older than 21 years) but definitely not in California. Looks like all the Brabus bits were added on at one time or another.

This. It isn't a Europa, but there are some legally imported G300 (OM606a) in the US. It has the side markers, but doesn't necessarily mean it was properly federalized, so I'd want to see import documents and DOT/EPA approval documents. Does it have a speedo in MPH or KPH? That's a good clue.

If it was properly imported, there should be a sticker somewhere stating that it complies with DOT and EPA requirements.

First of all Thanks to everyone who responded you guys are great! Yes it does have a speedo in MPH and was initially imported to Colorado. I’ll look for the sticker today. Not sure on paper work I’ll ask and keep you all posted as well.

I believe the Federal age limit for EPA (emissions) compliance is 21 years and the DOT (safety) limit is 25 years.
