Question: New model G63 2020, What Engine oil formula?

Soon: 2020 G63 Currently: 2016 GLE63 SUV + 97 F250HD, Before: 2013 G550, Range Rover Sport, 1984 CJ7

Question: New model G63 2020, What Engine oil formula?

Just had oil changed ta 10k Service-A. Dealer didn't put enough oil in... Anyone know what I should use formula wise? I am in North East Coast USA with a G63 AMG.

5W40 Mobil 1 European blend full synthetic. It should have a label approved by Mercedes.

Thanks Craig! That's what I figured. But wasnt sure if 0W or 5W. Cheers.

Sounds like the dealership owes you a fill up. I’m sure they would be happy to take care of their error. Maybe try them?

How do you know they didn’t put enough..any warning coming up or you’re seeing the level is low enough to not show green?

btw, congrats on really driving this thing..10k milestone arrived quick for you!

I am here now: if you want something done right do it yourself.

@festertester yes 10k woot. It’s such a nice truck for my long drives.

and yes an alert pops up saying add oil. Also if you toggle on your steering wheel to “service” and go down to Engine Oil it shows you how much oil you have. And an alert if you need some!

FINAL ANSWER: Oil is 0W-40 and it does say “for Mercedes” right on it. .
