The headliner of my roof towards the back started peeling today. It doesn’t look too crazy yet but was wondering what the causes of this could be? Any DIY fix?
Also, realized a liquid leak on the passenger side. It’s light blue-ish so assumed it’s the windshield wiper fluid. I just took this to Benz. Kind of surprising they didn’t notice this and/or this just happened. Anything for me to be super worried about with this leaking? Any potential causes?
For the headliner fabric, the only real repair is to remove the entire headliner board, and recover with new material. From the looks of the picture from the rear cargo door, it looks like the fabric is peeling away in many places all around.
My headliner fabric is in the same/slightly worse state. When I have more time, I'll be doing a complete headliner fabric swap, which is a ton of work. I saw in my carfax that my truck has had its headliner replaced at least twice in the past by the dealer due to fabric sagging, so this is a common issue.
Almostordinary documented the process of replacing his headliner in this build thread. He removed everything and ultimately had a shop recover with fabric and did the whole reinstall. It's not an easy, nor inexpensive process.
