Tire Pressure Menu

Now I keep getting the menu display of the four tire pressures whenever I turn off the ignition. The tire pressures are fine as shown on the display. My old E-class wagon started doing the same thing before I traded it in on the G. Does anyone know what causes this and how to turn it off?

Thanks!

What are the exact tire pressures? The system is looking for a pressure that is preset in the system which may be 36 - 38lbs COLD. Check your gas flap. If there is a variace of 2lbs or more you’ll definitely get the tire pressure warning. There is a process in the owners manual to reset the pressure to what you would like it to be.

Regards

Thanks. The pressures are between 36 and 38 PSI, but I will check again with a different gauge. I do not have the printed manual for my G so I will see if I can find a PDF version online for that procedure.

I agree - set the pressures the way you want them and then set the same in the system. I have mine at 40 front/42 rear and have not received a message/warning since the system now has those values to compare to.

Look at the gas flap and see what the front and rear pressures are. Then check your G when cold and see what pressure each the tire is.

The manual is available online if you need it.

Please understand that you can set the minimum required pressures using the system.
if you have more people or are towing you may need more tire pressure.

Can you program the tire pressure values in the system without hooking it up to a computer/scan-tool? I haven't messed with it yet since I assumed it had to be done with software for it, but if there is a way to access that menu through the G itself I'll lower the values to get rid of the TPMS warning I'm getting after installing the new tires. Thanks.

Yes, that is what I meant, I think it is under the "Service", "Tires" settings and set them as the new reference pressures.
