This car was then bought at an auction in November 2020
Went to see it today 1/12/21and it looks really clean. The leather looks better than expected and all other FINE details look great. every window, light, heated seats, AC, etc etc. everything works.
Engine sounds solid and there is very little rust that I can see from below. posting some photos to share. Also plugged in the INNOVA 2030b and it detected nothing.
Wondering if the community has some further insight on what I should look more carefully at and what are my biggest money sucker problems I will likely run into. I want to do overland styled upgrades and customize the interior. I am not in it for the luxury and mostly for having a solid car I can grow with for years and years and understand inside and out.
Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Where it "most often starts:
1. Front lower windshield /body frame - where moisture seeps down from the exterior of the windshield gasket - and that moisture starts the corrosion/rot under the gasket where you can't see it.
There are owner's who have literally has to replace the whole Upper Roof incl Pillars in a attempt to stop that there.
2. Along the roof edge above the tailgate - or on the inside of the tailgate along that bottom edge inside the tailgate - and check the whole tailgate area
3. G-Wagon rear license plate frames - corrosion starts behind the license plate - and that same electrolysis can start rust inside the tailgate
Remember - this is a 17 yr old G - and the fact is the bonus with a G (any year) is that they LOOK contemporary..
