Tire Cover Alignment

I can’t find anything about how all the pieces go together to go on the tire cover to keep it lined up and level.

My G55 didn’t have the pieces so I ordered them and for the life of me can’t figure out how they go on. I have searched all over for pics or a video and there seems to be nothing.

Can anyone provide a pic and some details?

Thanks
H

Are you not able to get the cover on at all, or are you just having trouble getting it to line up?
A couple of things to consider:
  1. Make sure the spare tire is the correct size. The tire cover fits over the factory size spare with only a small margin up or down for sizing. If it's too far out of spec one way or another you will never get it to stay in place (or close at all if the tire is too large).
  2. The outer band holds the front cover in place by friction, but there is also usually an alignment tube inside the front cover that works with the spare mount to line it up.
  3. Slip the outer band over the tire, then have someone hold the center cover in place while you position the outer band so it evenly holds the center cover in place.
  4. Line the latch mechanism up so that it is a hole on the outer band that will allow for a snug cinch once you close the latch/lock.
  5. Use a screwdriver to close the latch/lock mechanism. It will pull the cover slightly together to keep it snug and in place.
Take a pic of the parts you have and let us know what part you are having problems with.
