2014 G550 won't start

My G Wagon won't Start. No clicking noise, won't turn at all. Exterior and interior lights still work. Command screen scrolls through the following messages: SRS Malfunction service required, Front right malfunction service required (airbag light on) Blind spot assist inoperative, Low range malfunction & To park, apply brake. There was no indication of weak battery or rough running prior to not starting. I had the main and aux batteries tested and they look okay. I tried different key fobs as well. Power locks from the door and key fob don't work, power windows, power seats and shifter won't work either. Any clue as to what could cause this?

If you have access to an OBD scanner, check the diagnostic codes. Too often instrument panel annunciations display the effects of a fault rather than the cause, and are not helpful in isolating the problem.

Thank you Streborx. I don't have one. I'll have to find one.

Problem found!

I had the computer scanned and many codes pointed to the instrument cluster as the possible culprit. We were almost ready to pull it out and send away for repair. Then I retraced the last steps before everything stopped working. I had moved the driver seats forward so I could vacuum the carpet. A quick check under the driver seat revealed some wires got loose and got ran over by the seat tracks. It was cleared from the tracks and now things work again. It appears a splicing of some damaged wires is all it may need. And tidying up of the wiring harnesses under the seat to avoid it happening again. Thank goodness I dodged the bullet!

This likely blew some fuses also. Let us know which ones get replaced. There must be some functions other than the seat motors that became inoperative to cause the several symptoms you described in your opening thread.

When I saw you post, I thought the issue smelled of a CAN bus issue. I think the wires that got pinched shorted out one of the CAN buses (most likely CAN-B) causing the issue. Glad you were able to figure it out and that it was an easy fix.

If the 2014 main and aux batteries are still in the vehicle, replace them. They don't last forever, and 5 years is starting to go into the gray zone for battery life.
