who Repairs Instrument Cluster Board?
I have a 2000 G500 with all dash lights for all internal devices (Instruments, switches, key hole, cigar lighter, etc) are all dead. I have:
1. check and rechecked all fuses and fuse connections, There is only one fuse board on this 2000 G500 version, and it is under the passenger dashboard. There is nothing to the left of the dashboard, and nothing at the center console to the right side. I checked. There is nothing there.
2. replaced the headlight rotary switches,
3. removed the instrument cluster and replaced one bad bulb.
4. reseated a couple light bulbs at the brake lights
None of it changed the problem one little bit.
As an experiment, I applied 12V to the cigarette lighter light bulb and it lights up (but none of the other lights lit up).
The left edge of the instrument cluster has the three buttons to push to change the dash board level and they do not do anything to the dash light. The buttons do work so mechanically they do make the contact.
I am reluctantly coming to the conclusion that the light dimming function on this car is digital, controlled by a microcontroller in the dash, and it is not working. So, I am looking for a capable company that repairs these instrument boards. I do not want to do this myself. Can someone with experience on this topic suggest a company to do this fix?
Thanks,

Also, I would be able to do a bit more troubleshooting IF I had the correct Wiring Diagram for this model. I could not find it anywhere so it's all guessing in the dark at this point. Is there such a wiring diagram for the 2000 G500?

MBWorld Fanatic!
Try espeedo.com - I have no experience with them, but their website says they can do this type of repair (which seems notoriously prevalent in MBs of your vintage).
