2002 G500 - Paint Color Question
Hi,
I am considering the purchase of a 2002 MB G500 (VIN WDCYR49E72X128111). The seller's photos show dark blue exterior paint, but the VIN decoder indicates that the paint color is Green Black Metallic MB 9189 (9189). I'm relatively new to this model but my initial research seems to suggest that the correct paint color, based on the paint code, is Black Opal Metallic. Is that correct? It looks blue, the decoder suggests green and the code suggests black! Quite confusing for a newbie like me. Is anyone familiar with this color on this model - is it blue, black or green??? Any thoughts on whether this color looks good on a G500? For what its worth, I'm scheduled to see the vehicle tomorrow and can report back on my findings.

Update: looks blue to me. Not quite navy but darker than Capri Blue Metallic. I didn't see any green until right at dusk, when the light is orange/yellow. That gave the paint a green-blue tint.
