2015 on&offroad vehicle info display - tilt / pitch sensors
I enabled the "On&Off Road" vehicle display in my w166, my x166, and my w463. This is through the engineering menu- hold "end call + # + 1" for a few seconds and you'll find it under HW Settings / HU Settings (or something like that) - it's the "Vehicle info" screen and you can select ABC or On&Off road.
All is working as expected on the 166's.
However, on the G - it does display the high/low range settings correctly, and steering angle...
But the tilt and pitch display does nothing.
I guessed that there's an inclinometer somewhere on the 166's that's feeding these readings into the CAN network, but I can't really find any p/n for whatever it would be. I also can't find any CAN PID's that would represent the right data.
Does anyone know if it's in the head unit, or if there are other sensors on the car I need to go figure out?
Photos of my x166 and w463 screens are attached. (w166 screen is the same)
This is important to me since the max tilt angle of the G is 28.4 degrees and I get into situations where I get close with that.
Any ideas for tracking this down?
Thanks!
The ABS controller has the tilt and pitch sensors. With those and wheel spin makes up some of the DSR and 4matic system of the w and x166.
The w463 has a completely different brake controller which doesn't have these sensors.
