I have a 2002 g500. I am having an issue getting hot air to come out of the passenger side of the car.
If i turn heat up on both sides, i get hot air on driver side, no air on passenger side.
When i dial the passenger side temperature down, nothing happens until I set the temperature to the lowest point... then the cold air will start blowing. If i move the temperature gauge at all (from lowest) it will turn off the right side.
Any ideas?

Probably the simplest.... Make sure the vents are open.
Try re-adpating your climate control unit (https://mbworld.org/forums/g-class-w...ml#post8083242 ) It that doesn't help it could be the heater control valve or one of the air flap actuators. If you get no air, suspect the flap actuator (small electric motor with a cheesy plastic arm that is prone to break). If there is air, but it is not hot, look into the heater control valve.
Most likely the actuator as the valves fail open so you get nothing but heat.

Hi, thank you for responding. Originally Posted by Floobydust

I did try to readapt, that didn't seem to do anything.
This is the odd part. I get hot air on left, and cold on right from the defroster. Seems odd that the heat control valve would send hot to one side, cold to the other. But both sides are getting full air pressure.
If i turn air to auto, then hot air does come out of both sides, albeit slower on passenger.
Seem like the actuator?
Do you happen to know where to find the part number?

Hi there any update if you were able to get this fixed? I've been having the same issue on my 03 model. Thanks!

Hi, i wasn't able to get it fixed. Oddly, the blower motor stopped working all together. So i just replaced that. So now the fan is blowing well, but Im still having the same issue. If i turn the right side to cold, the air will come out of the defroster no problem. but if I turn on any amount of heat, it stops coming out of right. So weird. Originally Posted by Tonymeza55
