Retaining steering wheel control in 2006 G500
Nee some assistance here. Installed an aftermarket HU, Alpine. Installer claims no sterring wheel control adapter are avialable for 2006 G500. Is this true?

Yes, the ASWC-1 will work. I have it on my 2005 (same gen electronics system) and it worked fine. I looked up the installation instructions for a same era C32 AMG, which worked well.

The only annoying thing is the 'next' and 'previous' music selection from the steering controls are the same buttons as the next/previous menu buttons for the cluster screen, so you'll constantly be scrolling through the different screens when changing music. I never tried remapping which buttons control which because the LED blinking and switch programming routine of the ASWC-1 was way too much of a pain to figure out. (no patience)
