G Wagon 2011 W463: ABS not available differential locked

When does it pop up?- Pops up when hitting the accelerator in hilly setting. In icy or wet settings.

- Pop ups when accelerating up a hill
- Disappears after accelerating stops.

Result?
- When it pops up, cruise control no longer works
- Looks confusing with all these lights popping up

- Cause confusion when potential buyers test drive the car.

Possible reasons?- It might have something to do with the fact I can’t get the 3rd differential lock to lock in when I turn on the I, II, III > 4WD differential lock modes > I can get I and II to activate but never III

- Maybe this is a normal thing/pop up? The car automatically locks differentials when things get slippery?

- Had this issue for 1yr now, on/off > happening much more lately though.

- 1yr there was an incident where I left the sunroof open > rain over night. > caused tons of electrical problem.

How to diagnosis?
- Since the lights turn off after some time.
- When I get to the mechanic, the lights will be off by the time I park and ask them to scan.

Conclusion:
- Any thoughts on how I can diagnosis the situation?
- Any thoughts on how I can get it to stop?

Thanks so much for everyone's insight!
Andy

Did the issue occur prior to the water intrusion through the sunroof?

crosspost to club g as well, hoping you can get some help between the two. I’m assuming it’s related to the water ingress.

It would be worth plugging it in to see if there are any error codes that come up.

Failing that, then are there any loose sensors or wires connected to the front differential that you can see?

it happened after i believe.

BUT I only had the car for 1 week when the sunroof incident occurred so I cannot be 100% sure there was no issues prior.

Thanks for the club g recommendation!

I will do that!

- unfortunately mechanic said he couldn't plug it in when the issue disappears upon stopping the car.
