2005 G55 AMG Headrests?
I purchased a 2005 G55 AMG Grand Edition and the front and passenger seat headrests were replaced by the previous owner with aftermarket DVD headrests that look like it's straight out of an H2 Hummer with a PS2 set up back in 2003. Funny enough, the same owner who installed these headrests took the car to the dealer to disconnected them since it had a battery draw LMAO. I want to revert them back to original to regain the adjustment capability and to have a comfortable headrest to lay back on that does not feel like a brick with these aftermarket ones. I believe the G5 headrests were nappa leather and different from the G500 ones and faintly said "designo" on them, which is the one I want. I've been checking on eBay and it's hard to pinpoint these exact headrests that are not from the newer G55's. Until I can find the same exact ones on eBay (I believe from 2005 - 2009 Designo G55), does anyone have any experience installing different Mercedes Headrests on their G Wagons? I read from a different forum that the W463 headrests are interchangeable with the 1998 - 2005 ML-Class headrests. If that's the case, I can buy the front 2 from eBay from an ML55 AMG for like $50 total. Another thought is getting a pair of W220 S65 headrests that are also nappa leather, but I'm not sure if they'll fit the 2005 G-Class seats?
Also, the rear middle headrest has also been removed by the previous owner, I assume for better visibility since that's a pretty popular "mod" with G-Class owners. I definitely want to install the middle rear headrest back as well. Hopefully one can pop up on eBay, but will the ML headrests work in the meantime too?
