‘94 290GD (OM606). Clutch Slippage
Hi all. I am sorting out my 290 GD with a recently upgraded OM606A which was completed in early 2022. My OM606 output is nearly stock and is estimated to be 175 HP and 225 Torque. I realize this is more than my original OM602 but, in my mind should not be causing the issue below. I have a 717.443 five speed behind it. Also, during the upgrade, I installed the following new components:
* pilot bearing
* throw out bearing
* clutch (MB part #, 011-250-31-03-80)
* Press plate (MB part #, 004-250-19-04-64)
* transferred my flywheel from my OM602 and had it resurfaced (included equal resurfacing of attachment points for the pressure plate)
Over the last 6 months I have noticed that my clutch slips most notably in 3rd - 5th upon moderate acceleration. My local shop took a look at my set up and saw no heat related damage to the fly wheel and minimal clutch wear, but that it appeared that the clamping force of my pressure plate did not seem to be sufficient.
I am looking for a recommendation for an upgrade to my pressure plate.
