Hey what's up guys,

I had a steering wheel shake around 60-70 that was resolved by just re-balancing the wheels, but I have been reading about issues with the factory steering stabilizers not adequate enough, was this part upgraded already for the 4x4, or it uses the same factory part?

If it is the same part - what is the route most people go when upgrading: Fox or King?

These are just for the rear, I notice Eurowise also makes something for the front as well:

I am going to reach out to Eurowise, Jack Wagon, and Bill Rader and get their thoughts as well, will update this thread with what I find out

I've had the fox 2.0 damper on for the past 50k miles and it's been good. But I'm not lifted and only have 285/60R18's. ~31.5". I also have front caster correction bushings. I got it from Jack.

Some say that isn't adequate and you need the 2 way damping fox shock. I haven't found the need in my application, but if you have a lift, larger tires, etc it may make sense.

It mostly has to do with caster. With any lift, when you get closer to 0 caster, and thus you will have less/no 'return to center' effect. Caster correction bushings help, and Eurowise's longer radius arms do as well. Rear radius arm drop brackets are the factory's way of correcting for this, but most people choose to not go that route.

2002 G500 143k mi. I just replaced my OEM ones with Fox 2.0 over the weekend. Mine is not lifted and with the stock tire size. I can feel the difference when hit with potholes or uneven surface. I would not say dramatic difference, but subtle change.
Bought mine from Summit Racing for $169.95. Bough 1/2"x13x2-1/2" GR 9 bolts, nuts, washer, and locking washer from local hardware store. You will need to drill holes to existing mount, unless buy the adaptor plates. I did not purchase the adaptor plates. and it fit quite well without it.
Took about an hour to replace.

I have the 4x4 Squared - if the part is the same for the non Squared version, then I'll order the kit from Eurowise (Fox or King).

Right now it's like I am driving a semi-truck with the amount of play in the steering wheel - does this upgraded stabilizer fix that issue as well ?

Adding a "better" stabilizer won't fix the play in the steering wheel. That may be a function of your larger tire size (37s I believe) and the portal axles. The upgraded steering damper will help the "return-to-center" feeling, especially when your at the turning extremes, and will also keep the G from wandering all over the road, even when you're trying to keep the wheel straight.

It won't be a magical bullet as the G's steering is vague at best. Have you driven any other 4x4^2's to see if yours is driving correctly?

if you can stretch, i highly recommend the fox ats passthrough steering stabilizer, which adjustable. it definitely made a difference on g550 over oem stabilizer.

I don't have a 4x4, but I will be installing a JWO HD Tie Rod & Fox 2.0 set up next month. While I don't have any noticeable steering issues, I think it will better complete my setup (JWO 4", Fox, Eurowise caster arms, etc.)

Jack's version is more expensive than just the shock & bracket, BUT, I think it is probably a better thought out and stronger overall product.
